To probably mis-quote a great song I tend to think of IC like this.
You can log off, even delete your profile, but it will always be there to log back into and restore your profile and there you are...... your username(s) still there waiting for you. Of course you can always log on as a guest 
I guess its kind of a warm comfort blanket effect, al la linus stylee ! You always know its there.. waiting for you ready for you to log back in - like a faithful servant, loyal friend and very much like a family, you cant get rid of them!
Some things never change - but people do, I have changed so much since I used to log on as 'downboy'. Changed in so many ways that I hardley recognise myself at times. Im I the same guy who so many years ago circled the munch venue so amny times before gaining the courage to dive in, heading straight to the toilets ?!
The next few months are going to see me in a dark place in light of the news I received last week and I guess this is why I have logged back into this site for a bit of escapisim.
Along with a measure of soul searching and a dash of reflection I am *sure* that things will work out - one way or the other.........

Welcome back. You can suppress your desires but they never truly leave you, thankfully IC is patient and understanding in this matter. Sending you a big hug for days ahead.
