My own opinion, as someone who loves good writing, is that there are far too many wannabee writers here, including Ash, who can only "publish" his misogynistic fictionalised fantasy filth here because it can't be published anywhere else, and certainly no publisher would ever dream of giving him a contract.
Aren't there any feminists on this site, sub or otherwise?

Feminist or not has nothing to do with it. The debate is not about whether something is likely to be published in the mainstream or not, it is about whether some things should never be published even on a bdsm site.
It is an academic argument, not a lit crit one, in essence. Certainly it is not one around sexual politics.

Most actual feminists are able to differentiate between fact and fiction. Further, what they truly stand for is a woman's right to choose and express herself, even if that means expressing a liking for, or even sexual arousal gleaned from, explicit and violent stories. 'I'm gonna go hit the juice bar. You probably wouldn't like it. It's not about living out childhood abuse through degrading sexual encounters. It's more about juice.'

LOL. I just love the way you people can pile in like vultures - or is it sheep? - and claim that it is the recipient who is beating somebody else up. Hilarious but somehow moronic.
And thank you to the "silent majority" and those who sent me private emails for your felt but unexpressed support. I shall limp away again, mortally wounded to my lair - or maybe I'll just have another JD and not bother.

I genuinely have no idea what this means, can you explain, please?
Not huffy or stuffy, nor tiny or tall,
But fluffy, just fluffy, with no brains at all.

I always giggle when someone who is being soundly whooped in a debate says they have had lots of messages of support in private from people too scared to say so publicly.

I'm sorry but when did the criteria for posting weblogs be only something that is worthy of publishing? If that were the case then 99% of them wouldn't exist.
I'm a fan of good writing too, hence my enjoyment of Ash's writing. |

How do you know a publisher wouldn't publish him.
Look at some of the novels that are published.
And no fiction is evil or should be censored look at greek mythology.
