Thanks for coming and doing the fabulous stall, Zyhon & Arcanum's latex goodies were obviously very popular on the day ! Don't know why you couldn't find anyone when you left, we were all at the venue till about 7.30 and had at least 5 of the crew helping traders break down. Everyone may have been re-rigging electrics and packing down tables on the upper floor, but next time come and find someone to help you carry stuff out, thats what they are there for ! On behalf of the Alternative Fair team, a huge thank you goes out to all the traders, sponsors, performers & venue staff who contributed to make it a fantastic day. With a turn out of nearly 400 guests in such miserable wet weather, the event was constant hustle & bustle from opening time to close. The next Manchester Alternative & Burlesque Fair will be at Sound Control again on Saturday 25th February starring one of the worlds best known & loved twisted cabaret performers The Vivid Angel, and much more TBC. We will be also launching a Midlands location for this event in March. Held at the new 1200 capacity Vudu Nightclub, with in excess of 60 traders spanning the breadth of alternative culture, 4 themed shopping areas, high quality entertainment on 2 stages, it promises to be even bigger than the Manchester event. Just out of curiosity, but that location to me seems very inconvenient for loading, is there a loading bay available? Otherwise you will find it very challenging having 60 stall traders loading and unloading on that road which is already very congested from traffic to New Street Station and the Bullring. Loading in and out of many city centre venues is logistically challenging. The key to it is all in the planning. We currently manage to get 50 traders in & out of a 3 floor Manchester City Centre venue, situated next to a railway station/very busy thoroughfare, on a very narrow one way street with only 5 parking spaces. Using the same logistics, I don't envisage any issues with the new location, but we will obviously discuss these in detail with our participating traders in advance of the event, there is little point in publishing them here.
