Manchester Christmas Alternative & Burlesque Fair @ Sound Control, Saturday December 10th : 12 noon-6pmWe are delighted to announce details of the Christmas Manchester Alternative & Burlesque Fair, this time with a Fabulously Festive Feel and as promised, even bigger better and kinkier ! Offering over 50 STALLS, THREE THEMED SHOPPING FLOORS, 2 PERFORMANCE STAGES, a full programme of entertainment & installations, a lounge bar chill-out area + private outdoor terrace, THE ALTERNATIVE & BURLESQUE FAIR is the biggest event of its kind in the UK. We have an expanded area of Fetish/BDSM/Gothic/Steampunk traders in the basement Cellar of Sin, whilst the Burlesque/Vintage/Rockabilly traders will occupy the first floor "Burlesque Boudoir" where the main performance stage is also located. Whatever your alternative tastes, there is something for everyone at the event, not to mention a great opportunity to come and meet up with friends, new and old, in a kink friendly pansexual environment. We have traders spanning the whole alternative sub-culture spectrum including Fetish/BDSM, Burlesque, Gothic, Roackabilly, Vintage, Neo-Victoriana & Steampunk so expect to find a wide range of products on offer from all corners of the UK. Well with 2 full months to go until the event, we are delighted to be now 95% fully booked for traders, and to have started waiting lists in many product categories for February. We hope that more people in the BDSM community will feel that this event now has something to offer them, as with around 30 specialist BDSM/Fetish traders from all corners of the UK occupying the Cellar of Sin alone, we're sure that you are unlikely to struggle to find the kinky product that you require. As well as lots of amazing Latex designers, we have a huge range of BDSM toys & accessories, handcrafted leather restraints & collars, E-stim equipment, dungeon furniture, kinky footwear and just about everything else in between. That's of course not even counting the further 20 stalls upstairs in the Burlesque Boudoir, whilst of course not BDSM, you'll still find more latex designs, bespoke & off-the-peg corsetry, and lots of jewellery to compliment or accessorise that special outfit. There will be 2 large showcase areas, one in the ground floor lounge area, featuring the Alternative Footwear Roadshow, whilst on the basement mezanine area, we are delighted to have a similar sized area, displaying a range of dungeon & fetish furniture from Hungary based House of Eros. We have booked one of the Fetish world's very best Twisted Cabaret performers Syban V to headline the basement stage, whilst upstairs, legendary UK burlesque performer Kittie Klaw will grace the stage, and with a whole programme of supporting entertainment, you won't be short of something to watch whilst you take a break from shopping. Hope to see lots of you in December.

Sooo depressed that the access to this is a problem if you're in a wheelchair; there's so much going on and all for just a fiver. If you change venue and the access is better, I hope you'll let us know?. Sadder still to watch it die than never to have have known it. | ||

Yes it is a great shame, and its a constant issue we have with venues countrywide as there are so few that are fully wheelchair accessible. They are in the process of installing a lift at Sound Control, but its unclear whether this will be finished in time for the December event. It is highly unlikely that we will change the venue, as this one took us long enough to find, but we will keep people posted on the progress of the lift installation, trust me, the traders who have to carry everything up or down stairs, are even more eager to know !
