It was the first time in years that I'd been to LAM, not for any particular reason, mostly that time and energy are not in abundance. I have to say that I'm very glad I did.
I met friends old and new, even met some I had only knownb 'virtually' before.
The venue wasn't perfect - but then few fet venues are - and I look forward to the new one; rumbling down the cobbles tested the quality of my fillings (I guess Islington is too poor to do any research into what kind of surfaces are best/worst for cripples).
But the people were as lovely as everywhere I've been, and I was bowled over by all the kindness and offers of help.
I feel I should offer my apologies though to all whose ankles, heels and toes were assaulted by my wheelchair; my driver is not too au fait with the length of the vehicle when combined with my delicate size 12s and seems to regard us as some kind of battering ram. She's learning and she's very kind!

Glad you enjoyed the day, but have you thought of getting her L plates for a while? You know, just until she gets more practice?
Have fun and do drop in on us again, a little advance warning so we can hand out shin pads might be a nice touch too
I'm not cruel........ My kindness is just VERY misunderstood !!! |
