PMSL!!!! ok I'm not stalking you honest!

Yep, put a bit of kitchen roll or tissue paper over the wax and using an iron (on low setting) it will melt into the paper, you can then lift it and the small bit remaining can be scrapped out easily.

Excellent advice. That's how I do it too.

Hi Lima, you could try laying out the fabric flat and putting brown paper on top. Use a just warm iron and iron over the paper. The candle wax should show on the paper at each 'pass' use a fresh area of paper. You may need to do this several times to get it all off.

If its clumps of candle wax try putting the article in the freezer then picking the frozen wax off. This last idea also works for chewing gum.

Just a few suggestions I hope it works x

Put a shower curtain down first.

Can you tell I'm bored and have nothing better to do with my life?
Well nothing more important to do.
Well nothing I can be bothered doing to do.
And you get to suffer my writings because of it.

If the item would not take well, or fit etc, in to the freezer, resting an ice cube on the wax will help make it brittle and hence easier to scrape off before iron and paper as above

Brown paper is the traditional way. Collect up manilla envelopes, I usually do. I have some particularly drippy candles in my living room, and plenty of experience. Sadly not through someone being bad to me with wax, boohoo.

But yes, brown paper and a hot iron, should bring it out nicely.

:-D

Thanks everyone for the advice (I knew I'd heard somethign aout brown paper but wasn't sure exactly what to do with it), it's very helpful.

I'm hoping it won't make a difference that I've washed the skirt (I just realised there was wax on it when I went to hang it up). I've scraped off the bulk of it (it was only 2 smallish drops anyway) but it's left 2 greasy marks where the wax was.

I'll give the brown paper and/or kitchen roll a try. Fingers crossed :)
