and that's about the size of it. The tosser-writers of the soaps portray every relationship as doomed to failure, and my pet hate, emotion , whether grief, love, whatever, has to be emphasised by a violent reaction, especially from males. If BDSM ever became flavour of the month, look out.
The best PR we get is still from Abi' on NCIS which is a bit fetish and Domme flavoured from an excellent character Nope, anything the media get their grubby mitts on becomes a lost cause. Fitz.

Male to male kissing was once considered to be inappropriate for family viewing yet it is now common place on Eastenders, Emmerdale and probably Hollyoaks too. I'd call any group of people who communicate with each other a community. BDSM of some kind will most certainly appear in a soap at some time in the future. My guess would be within the next 5 to 10 years. But usually these things happen after something like a fly on the wall documentary showing a lifestyle couple. If we as a community want BDSM to be portrayed in way that reflects the reality of what it is, and not as a negative thing, or as an object of ridicule - we should start lobbying the producers of soaps now. | ||

I don't think it's goin to happen because of the 9pm Watershed, all of the Soaps are orginally broadcast before this time, they have to be because they are a prime time idea after all. There are rules in place as to what can an can't be show before 9pm and I believe, (thou. don't know for sure) that subjects like BDSM arn't allowed. And. Personally, this is a real bugbear of mine. I wouldn't want Soaps to protray BDSM in anyway what so ever. IMO they are simply bad drama, that arn't true to life. For example, I live in the East End of London and I simply don't recognise my home whenever I see ( not watch) Eastenders, the East End isn't 95% White with the odd token ethnic thrown in. I could cite a hundered an one other examples, all the main characters know and like each other, all drink in the same pub etc. etc. It's paint by numbers not Art of any worth. Oh an if Ya love them, good on You, enjoy, honestly. "Yeah I like Kinky stuff, dirty dark pervy stuff, weird sex....

The only problem with this idea is that in reality, writers and producers look for the fomula that makes big ratings for a soap.So they are less likely to respect our lifestyle and more then likely to go for a sensational angle. http://empressm7.uboot.com/ http://www.socialkink.com/empressmartine Vampire, pro/lifestyle ts dom/switch.Ageplay mummy/aunty/AB,medical play, domestic, energy, outdoor specialist."Awsome! Also...if our "commuinity" were ever to appear in a soap it would mean reinforcing a stereotype that is completely innaccurate anyway. Bdsm is as diverse as people are, I really dont think you could ever call such a disparate bunch a community at all. The internet gives the impression of a community but we are all so different and will never have any common values and views so how is that a community ? We are all (hopefully) decent aware people but we dont seem to share any ethos etc . I think keeping out of the mainstream media would be best for now. Not until attitudes have changed a lot anyway! Sex and drugs and rock'n'roll is very good indeed! (Ian Drury)......
