I have been wearing my knee high bondage boots, rubber tights, under tight leather jeans, for 64 hours now- since Friday teatime. I'm going to escape soon after having a shave, because there's things to do, and dressed like this I'm not very flexible.
Makes me think. Is dressing like this analogous to wearing high heels, where it is impossible or difficult to do much in the way of menial physical work, that you have literally put yourself above day to day life?
Anyroad, yesterday I went to a steam event at Barrow Hill near Chesterfield, the friend I went with is kinky and he certainly had no objections to me dressing like this....public reaction is interesting, one woman went 'wooo' quietly as I walked past, but the men are more circuitous, all of a sudden somebody wants to stand behind me with his camera ostensibly to photograph 'Tornado', or as a steam engine runs past, somebody behind me says 'nice', well of course he's commenting on the engine.
But perhaps the real point for anyone out there who is wary of dressing in public....nobody is critical, no cries of 'Eeeeeeek a perv'. Quiet looks, subtle moves. No bad vibes. I've been a leatherman for twenty five years and only got four adverse comments in that time, all easily dealt with.

I've always said it's not what you wear but how you wear it. If you act like it's the most normal thing in the world *most* people will accept and be quite positive. If you look seriously uncomfortable and well aware you look like a freak, then that is what others will see and think too. Confidence will let you get away with all sorts! As for high heels... I know a lot of people struggle with them, but I've always been able to do 100yard dash in 4 inch stillettos fast enough to overtake my bus and catch it (ok it was down hill and I couldn't have stopped if I'd wanted to). I do identify with placing yourself above when I wear my crazy platforms... apart from anything it's particularly novel to be looking over peoples' heads for a change, and it does imbue a sense of power. Very strange. |
