I was sat at my desk in work during the night, bored with nothing to do and I got to thinking about this place ...
I have been on IC for over 8 years I did have another profile before this one but can't for the life of me remember its password
Over the years people have been regular posters to IC, regular at clubs and munches and people I'd class as quite popular within the community, I remember the old IRC chat site the place was packed every night ..
I returned here a few weeks ago after a 4 year break, never thought I'd see myself back here but well here I am
.
Looking down the list of weblogs there are perhaps one or two names I recognise but none of the older regulars ...
Where do they go to? Did they give up the lifestyle? Was is for them something that happened in the here and now, are they still partaking in there particular kink or has vanilla life taken over...

People find other things to do, it is the same in any hobby. In BDSM the turnover is pretty high, as you have discovered. Rohypnol means never having to say "Would you like another coffee?".

I still post from time to time, more about my photography than anything else, I seem to value my privacy more these days. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jezzebelle/

I hope I am here for the long haul. I am a newbie but dont want vanilla me to take over again. It is so easy to get lost and how we should behave. I really value this site. I want to be as free in life as I am in my mind.

I used to be very active on the site and on the scene. But felt a very strong shift in the respect levels on here which stopped me posting, unless you posted something really inane and senseless you got flamed and it stopped being cathartic to put thoughts out there. Vanilla has taken over my life and I must admit.. I love it. I am still a sub at heart and am fortunate my new vanilla relationship allows me to fulfill this. And I still check In on my friends here although now they are all on facebook so thats easier to keep in touch on. But the scene in the last 4 years has changed negatively I think.

Alas, Vanilla life does take over sometimes. It has for us.
Yes we still enjoy the 'kink' but its on special occassions these days, when we get time (and the energy)
Its a bit like everything in life, almost a bit like a hobby, if you do it ALL the time, especially with the same partner, it can become a bit samey and the spark kind off dissipates.
Be yourself..... who ever that may be

couldnt agree more Fen (big hug to you hon). I dont post much here any more. The people have changed and not for the better I think, the whole scene has changed although to be fair I havent been out much for the past few years. Dont give a toss if people want to flame me, water off a ducks back. I just really cant be arsed with it all. Sweetiejar |
