There are some very good books about regarding BDSM. There are those focusing on technique. There are fewer looking at the ethos of the scene and the dynamics of BDSM relationships.
One I've recently read is: It's Not About the Whip by Sensuous Sadie. A very good read so far. She is not afraid to question some of the myths and crazy ideas surrounding what it is that we do. Though I do not personally embrace myself the sort of open relationships she describes it is an enjoyable read and a lot of what she says about BDSM relationships is right on the mark.
