Morning. I find myself awake at this strange hour, having been sent to bed by @Carenza_lionheart last night, after falling asleep in front of the telly. So I thought I'd open the WAC for anyone who wants to pop in.
I just sent this memo to a new IC friend who enquired after my poorly heart-failure mutt. I borrow the words as I can't bring myself to type them again:
| After Friday nights struggles, yesterday I came down to find her lying in pools of pee. Had to help her to stand, got her into the garden to wash her and her legs collapsed.... I knew it wasn't fair to keep her going. She went very peacefully at my vets at around noon. So, for the first time in around 20 years, I'm a one dog household. It feels odd and too quiet. And I feel strangely redundant. I've been mopping up around her and caring for her for so long, it was strange to have a peaceful, uninterrupted night in front of the TV. No doubt I'll get used to the peace but, right now, it feels very odd. |
I'm blessed to have friends around, all brought to me by IC: Carenza has been a bloody star, as has Mac, texting and checking on me. And today I see my partner in crime, Mr Loc, to sort out the final tweaks for the @FemSubSocialClub
Sorry to open up on a downer but I've had so many memos from so many lovely people, I wanted to share my news ![]()
Wishing you all a much more cheerful Sunday; I hope it's kind to you xxx

Morning, so sorry to hear your news. It's hard when we lose a loved one, no matter if it were expected or if it were a jolt out of the blue. Thinking of you. lily |

Oh. I'm so sorry. I lost my springer of 13 years last may, in similarly distressing circumstances. Horrible. Just horrible. Let the tears come, and time will heal. And you never forget them, not ever. X Pleasure: quantified by plunge pools, and waterfalls. |

Morning all @Fluffysub They leave such a huge gap these little heart thieves called dogs! Nothing loved is ever truly lost. Nice to hear that friends are looking after you.

I lost my springer a few years ago and can still remember the day I had to take her to the vets, but it was kinder to her than keeping her going for my selfish reasons. I still have her tag on my keyring so I never forget her. Just remember the good times. Hugs to you |

I'm so glad that you have such good friends, FluffySub. Take care and take your time. xx I'm off to play in a competition of hitting the wee white thing with the long hitty things into the thorny green things. Have the best day your circumstances will allow you all. "Me and Kevin, we're just not the same" |
