No the southerners banned games up here a few years back,

However a few of us continue a black market racket of ps3 games

Could you be more specific? It's just that I've noticed there are shops around that sell computer games and consoles, and also shops that sell board games wargaming stuff. One of them has closed down near me which suggests that there are some gamers in the north of England but not enough to have kept that one shop open so maybe there are declining numbers.

But I myself do play games occasionally. I'm currently slaughtering my way from Dragon Age. Although I have to say I tend to buy such games through Steam, mainly due to local shops not selling a decent range of PC games, and also I'm happy with the Steam way of dealing with DRM which is much better than EA's way of screwing up their games while accusing all their paying customers of being thieving bastards. So on-line sales of games will also account for north England gaming.

Can you tell I'm bored and have nothing better to do with my life?
Well nothing more important to do.
Well nothing I can be bothered doing to do.
And you get to suffer my writings because of it.

Irrespective of your definition, *raises hand*.

Board and video gamer here.

There are definitely some video gamers in the North East. The North West I have no idea about.

Does running after a metal hoop with a stick count as gaming?

I thought the north was just that grim scary place where soft southern football teams go to die...
