Sadly, sometimes they do fall, usually into a place where it's impossible to reach the dead animal. Thus creating a country smell that nobody likes, but it does give the crows, ravens and foxes a good feast. Second childhood? Me? I haven't left the first one yet!

I thought everyone knew. Mountain breeds of cows, sheep, goats, have evolved into two distinct sub-species. There are those whose right legs are longer than their left and consequently can happily (and safely) spiral their way round a mountainside anti-clockwise, and those whose left legs are longer than their right who are destined to always travel clockwise. Although in theory the two sub-species can interbreed, in practice it is physically impossible without one of them falling over.

While we are talking cows calamity also commented that some cows were pretty. So I asked her what made a cow pretty. With the nievity of a child I got the immediate reply: Don't be afraid of dying, be afraid of not living.
