It's pretty straightforward - the very same convenience and relative anonymity that makes it easy for people to be jerks is exactly why it's piss-easy for you to walk away from it. Or, if you're feeling jazzy, you can tear them a new fucking asshole. Either way, jeez, just don't sob and gripe like little bitches who've just found out that taxation exists. It's an open discussion, and those contributions that irk aren't supposed to be taken with the solemnity and severity of brothers contesting one another over their father's will. If someone is being a dick, everyone else will see that they've been a dick, too. That's basically a super-win, and it's why lame dudes like me ever get laid. And if too many people are dicks in your estimation, then maybe time to shuffle on by. Everyone has equal claim to this site, unless they violate the AUP - and to accept that is true tolerance.

On the other hand, there are SOME posters who have gone out of their way to attack, flame and be generally obnoxious. High probability a couple of the memo's were from them.

Guess what. If they were sending me memo's of support, I'd be a bit worried.

I think IC is very tolerant.
