Well now, all charges dropped. What a surprise.
The plaintiff was not able to keep her story straight, or more importantly to explain the large, out-of-pattern sums in her bank account.
It was so clearly a setup, most probably by, well I suppose one shouldn't name names, but cui bono? Who is the obvious beneficiary of DSK's reputation being destroyed? Duh. A certain election is only a few months away now, and some people really don't want a Socialist government in France now, do they?
Those who rushed to condemn this man as guilty before any proof was offered of the allegations will remain silent now. Their work is done. They have used the case as an opportunity to air their hysterical prejudices, without the slightest regard for justice, or the faintest grasp of what goes on in the world of realpolitik.
One can only hope the French electorate aren't quite so gullible or so stupid.
