Mums - don't you just love them?
I love my mum and she does come out with some belters sometimes, bless her.
We were talking about me recently becoming single (for context, I had a male partner and prior to that relationship I had female partners for several years).
Mum said to me, "Your dad and I have been talking about it and we want to know what to call you. What are you now? Are you an in-between or a nothing?"

Bi-lingual, LOL! I did wonder what "being a nothing" might entail when she said it. But I thought I best not go there and ask. We were mooching round some formal gardens last week and she was admiring the ornamental hedges cut in intricate patterns.... "I do love that potpourri" she said. I so need to start writing them down. c xx And if my mum had asked if I was bi-lingual I'd probably have just said yes and left it at that.

My mum comes out with some good uns too. She couldn't remember the name of the ice cream blocks with chocolate slivers in it...you know Vendetta.. Another was Match and Snatch when she was talking about Tear and Share bread. Her most recent bestest one was when I was telling her about going on my fella's mum and dad;s boat she asked if we had to take it back where we found it? No mum we just left it where we finished with it lol. I'm gonna close my eyes and count to 10 and when I open them again, everything will make sense to me then

My mum wasn't the best at knowing music artists, but she really liked Beef Cake - I constantly had to remind her it was Meat Loaf I miss her mistakes x Sorry? Did that hurt?

Since I became a mum myself, I sometimes hear my mum's words coming out of my mouth. It's alarming.....except that I think in most ways she's a pretty awesome mum and if I do as well as her I can be content. Although also OMG I'M TURNING INTO MY MOTHER WTF?!!! Chatting to my mum one Christmas, and she asked if I was going to be able to take some time off from work and studying. I said yeah, except I had to do some research online for an essay I had to write. "Oh," she piped up, "is the internet open at Christmas then?" I think that was her best ever.

My Grandmother, bless her,had a few stock sayings. She often used to say 'well, I'll go to the foot of our stairs'. I never understood what she was talking about..particularly as she lived in a bungalow.
