Sometimes I wonder if a religious education is also leading to some specific perversions. Each religion has its own rituals and similar rituals are often taken in profanity also in BDSM practices. So I wonder: which religion is the most perverted? And what are the typical practices that could be associated to each religion? |

No. Rohypnol means never having to say "Would you like another coffee?".
Religion: It makes good people do bad things.

Maybe repressing ones desires and basic instincts can lead to perversions.
Perhaps the pressures of being a spiritual and moral role model isnt healthy? Ten years have gone by,
Since I looked in his eye,
But the memory lingers,
I got back in my mind,
To the very first time,
And feel the touch of his fingers.

What is that you are refering to by the word Perversion?
I mean no offence but for many "religions" being gay is a perversion, for others oral or even extramarital sex or even dancing are perversions.
And I am guessing you mean organized manstream religions not those "cults" that even put sex as part of their "rituals".
so perversion as defined by the dictionary is
perversion [pəˈvɜːʃən]
n
1. (Psychology) any abnormal means of obtaining sexual satisfaction
2. the act of perverting or the state of being perverted
3. a perverted form or usage
to pervert is
1. To cause to turn away from what is right, proper, or good; corrupt.
2. To bring to a bad or worse condition; debase.
3. To put to a wrong or improper use; misuse. See Synonyms at corrupt.
4. To interpret incorrectly; misconstrue or distort
so if we take definition 1 of to pervert, we find that YES relgion creates perversions as it tells people what they must think as right and proper. Not what is natural and human but RIGHT acording to what the religious leaders and writings of said (whatever religion) have decided is good and bad.
Perversions do not exist in nature as everything that happens in nature is by definition NATURAL.

Religions are intrinsically perverted - by which I mean when they are connected with power there is generally suppression of individual rights [especially when it comes to how you chose to express your sexuality and freedoms]. It may not be that evident in our mostly liberal and secular western society but that's because it is moderated by secular, democratic values and notions of equality.
Where religion advocates suppression of sexuality, e.g. relationships for priests, I think this also leads to violations of other peoples rights as suppressed sexuality often has to find some outlet.
I think some people get into the scene to explore their desires as a reaction against a religion and the limitations conventional religion imposes, even if they still claim to be religious. Of course people with new age beliefs, or who are only religious in a very liberal sense rather than followers of religious dogmas will not find difficulty in integrating both BDSM and religion. Neither do fundamentalists who embrace the subjugation of women, unless of course we are talking about femdom.

YES it does. I saw a Master once and asked him why i felt the way i did about certain fantasies as i've had them from a very early age. I told him about it and he said 'you're not a Catholic are you?' to which i replied yes. He then said 'there's only one thing worse than being a Catholic and that's being an Irish Catholic to which i replied 'i'm one of them too' He said 'sorry but you've no f*****g chance, don't try and understand, just accept it. I rest my case.
