After my first post ive been sat in traffic thinking and here is another question ya'll might like to debate Is (your) kink a form of recreational drug? DO you need that 'edge' to get you through the day? “I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.” Edited Wed 10 Aug 11, 3:32 PM by Fortasse

strangley i don't feel that, it for me is a lifestyle that is kinda has its own honesty about it,, many a vanilla relationships exist on one being dominant over the other whilst the nilla (sub) may not particularly like it but they live with it that way,, not kink but real putting down of another whereas if we were a nilla couple than prehaps maybe,, jumping out the nilla closet to get a BDSM 'fix' would be like takeing a recorational drug Please excuse crap spelling cause i,m rubbish

No, nothing like it. I don't need any drugs or anything like drugs. Does it enhance my life? - Like hell it does. I would find it really difficult to live without the D/s - related friends I've made - they're quite addictive.

Not to get me through the day, as it doesn't happen every day. But there are times when I crave it and then have to do a bit of begging to 'get my itch scratched.' ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

No. I cant speak for others, but it is just a natural part of me. Less like drugs and more like air.

I would not say it is a drug, like others have said it is a lifestyle. However, it does make me feel very good and that life is worth living when it goes well!

Not like drugs but I think it does make me release feel happy chemicals And then sometimes I drop afterwards.
So there are some similarities
Its cheaper and healthier tho I reckon

If i'm blue, it certainly makes me happier. And the pain/pleasure mix can certainly get the happy hormones going. Recreational drug? hmmmm....don't think so for me, not as addictive as tobacco or alcohol i don't think
