do u, or anyone, know what single tail whips are called - i know nothing about whips - and looking at some sites earlier - they all seem to have names - stock, snake etc etc...

Is a single tail whip plaited, and if so, what differentiates it from a bullwhip?

Erm I have no idea, those links came from LordJames who is the one out of the two of us that holds the whips... I'm assuming that is is someone else who is saying to you that they don't want a bullwhip? what is it they are after?

Hi algosub, I notice from your personals that you are fairly new to the scene, may I suggest it is unusual to start with a single tail, most subs progress to these after they have tried floggers, straps, paddles, canes etc. If you are intent on buying a single tale, make sure that whoever uses it knows how to, even a small one can cut and cause serious pain in the wrong hands. No doubt Lady Red and The Whipstore have by now filled you in on the variations available it is probably best if you visit one of the fetish markets (Bristol is not far from you and is on this Sunday) and get the feel for yourself. If none of the suppliers are present this weekend, I will bring a few of mine for you to see. Whatever you do, don't rush into buying something you may regret, there is some very expensive rubbish out there.

I've been told to get one for punishment, and getting my own punishment seems to amuse him greatly!!

He is very experienced and so i have no worries on that score, and altho i am a new sub, i am a switch, so i'm not green as it were, i just know nowt about whips, but after all your help i mailed him and he has clarified what it is he wants, so now i just gotta go get it - i cant get to the BBB unfortunately as i work sundays (wont be in any hurry to get it though, as i know what will be coming afterwards! lol. They are not cheap and i'm poor, so maybe he'll forget by then, u reckon!?

I see Mick H has replyed to you (he is a good friend)offering some advice regarding single tails. There are a few diferent types you can get, if you look at my profile on the pictures there are three types. snake whip, bull whip,and signal whip, there is also a fourth type a stock whip, I do not have one of those. These types of single tails are all avalible in diferent lengths colours,hides, prices and makers,cheep is not good as the mojor cost is labour, and as they are hand braded its time and effort your are paying for. So choose wisely. Jo from the Whip Store is the place to buy good single tails from, Dave and Jo give good advice and stock a fair selection from the better makers in the world.
