Not bothered about coffee cake nor, until recently, pork pies, which I have always found stodgy, bland and cloying, and usually found them in wedding receptions in working men's clubs in Stoke on Trent*, but recently I found the Pieman's stall in Borough Market and they really do produce a fantastic pork pie. It's like Cheddar Cheese; most of the Cheddar gets today is tasteless dairy sludge intended to wean people off concepts like flavour and quality, but then if you try real Cheddar made at the Cheddar Cheese Company in Cheddar, it's a complete revealation - 'Oh! This is what it's supposed to taste like!' It's the same with those pies. Goodness knows what it's supposed to have to do with BDSM, except that some people are brilliant to play with, while I'm sure some others just do it by numbers. I suppose that'll do as an analogy. * Stoke on Trent - I was born and grew up there, I know what it's like and I know why they ellected BNP to the local council. If I slag it off, I do at least slag it off from knowledge. We are going to have a wonderful time at Night of the Cane; why not join us?

Cheese belongs in the cheese thread. We'll have no cheese here!

What's the best biscuit to go with gravy? If I can find the right one then I could use it to help mop up any gravy after a chicken pie. Or if I find the wrong one I can use it to mop up the gravy after a chicken pie and then feed it to my slave if I ever find one. Can you tell I'm bored and have nothing better to do with my life?

I am fairly certain a "Nice" biscuit couldn't be a Domly biscuit... Ginger nuts, though, I agree with them as Domly biscuits. Treat one of those with a lack of respect and you could get your teeth broken.

I dunno about combining pies and biscuits, my Dad eats biscuits on a piece (that's a butty to you lot South of The Border!). And I remember once taking my uncle for a pub lunch when I was about 10 or 11 and he asked for a 'piece on mince'. The pub didn't do 'pieces' so gave him a buttered roll with mince and mashed potato on it Me, I prefer a nice pastry to a pie or a biscuit. In the beginning god created man ... that was his first mistake ... everybody knows the lady should always come first |
