Can I thank those who helped with my query regarding copyright in a mistress's chambers. I wondered if it would be possible to help a mistress friend who is wanting a number of contracts drawn up. In regards to mistress's working in her chambers especially terms and conditions, hiring of the chambers, for the use of filming etc. She has already approached a solicitor but found them not very helpful. Or can you point me in the direction of any one that can help If you can please pm again many thanks for any help Ropeslave Edited Fri 5 Aug 11, 2:36 PM by ropeslave

The rules of the game are very simple. Contracts are, in this industry by and large un-enforceable. Simply make your T&C known at the time of hiring. Publish it if you like, for reference later. If your client wishes to avail himself of the facilities again, he will keep to the terms... and if he doesn't, you ban him. You haven't a hope of suing him over some dispute about a deposit, or a cancellation fee or an unpaid damage charge. So there you go.

you probably need to talk to a commercial solicitor but why don't you just contact the law society (http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/contactus.law?REASO... and they'll give you a list.

Having contracts drawn up for multiple 'mistresses working in her chambers' strikes me as a legal oxymoron. The Red Rose Whispers Of Passion (J o'B R)

It is against the law for more than one mistress (sex worker) to be working from a premises, even if they are working on different days/at different times. They are then considered, the person who owns the premises...... of running a brothel, even if for 'filming etc.' purposes. There only needs to be one disgruntled client/ex client, nosy neighbor, pissed of ex-boyfriend of said owner, another jealous mistress...... to bring the 'situation' to the attention of the police and the premises will be closed down, court proceedings taken out etc. It is NOT against the law for one sex worker, in this case a pro-domme, to work independently from a premises. She may also have people help her, such as a secretary, receptionist, lady's maid, driver etc...... but their duties must not entail handling money on behalf of the mistresses (including discussing finances with prospective/actual clients), banking money etc. P.S. ....... just to add I think this law 'sucks' and for mistresses to stay on the right side of the law they are in a position where they are much more physically vulnerable, as well as having added expenses as not able to legally pool there resources together. But, that is how the law stands and anyone thinking to hire out there premises needs to carefully consider their legal position. Is the right answer!!!!! The amount of verbiage that gets expended by wannabee lawyers on these boards is unbelievable. If you trust the other person so little that you think you need a legal document then you shouldn't be doing business with them in the first place.Written contracts don't save rotten deals
