I had hoped to make it to this one, till I checked my calendar. It reminds me that I will be at Cropredy (Fairport's Cropredy Convention) on this coming weekend so, unless the munch can be moved to Oxfordshire at short notice, I must make my apologies and cry off.

I hope it goes well for all those who attend, and look forward to reading the reports here when I return.

Just wondering, given the presence of actual anarchy in London at the moment, has this munch become somewhat superfluous? Would it maybe be better to have a rule of established law munch? Y'know, for a bit of a change. I'd like to go to that munch right now.

Not quite how I would have put it, but it would be interesting to hear how those who identify as anarchists respond to the way the press have identified the rioters as "anarchists".

Yes it does seem to confuse some people doesn't it, that most usages of the term "anarchy" have nothing to do with anarchism.

I AM THE GOD OF HELL-FIRE!.....but its my lunch break right now

'Business as usual' is how I would respond to the way the media have identified the rioters as anarchists.

Erm, I am hardly like to agree that a munch I organise has become superflous, unless attendees stop coming to it!

You would be welcome, if you can make it, you seem to enjoy a lively politcal debate.

If you cannot see the irony of an Anarchist Munch being under attended due to problems in the Camden area because of what you understand as Anarchy, there is not a lot I can say.

By all means keep the comments coming, it keeps the Anarchist Munch thread at the top of the boards!

Superfluous wasn't the best word. Was trying to think of a word like unfashionable or common. Perspicacity fail. Point being, an anarchy munch, in a sea of anarchy, made me wonder if maybe we should have a munch where the system is in charge, just to be different.

Having to explain a joke is never a good sign. :)

I'd be tempted to trot along though. Safety in numbers in these crazy days and all that.

Fascinating that at times like this, the nasty memos start coming my way. I guess some people when they feel threatened need to strike out at someone. These memos are to date never by anyone with a network, an identifiable photo, or who dares sign their name. The internet warriors strike!

Typically they make assumptions about me which are so wide of the mark, that their hostility doesn't meet its target.

Currently I am in one of the rioting hotspots and saw the action at my doorstep last night. Although envisaged to be in an ivory tower. Ah well.

I was going to memo you to see if you could get my one of those 3D TV's on the cheep ;)

Ill bleed for you if you make me cum
