This week...I conducted a social experiment on myself.

I have made a conscious effort to be interactive with Real Life human beings. Being human. Every single day of this week I have met someone, in a social context, to talk and have fun. I arranged my life around a standard 9-5 working day, and dedicated the rest of it to play and eat and sleep.

As a result...I have not met my usual superhuman deadlines.

Which has made me realise a thing. Or two.

Monday...Thai with a lady that I suspected I liked...and now I know it's true. Funny how you can work in the same place with someone for over 3 years without taking the time to find out just how amazing they really are...I find myself looking forward to our next meeting with great anticipation...
Tuesday...Early dinner and getting lost around Sheffield with another beautiful soul...a woman with wondrous imagination and an ease with the written word that made me smile...again, I look forward to our next meet. Will we play a game or two then?
And then the Munch with the Funnest hostess...my ever gorgeous @Woman_of_Substance. Ah, you lil bundle of perfection, you just make me !!!!
Wednesday...Kinda work, but not. Two male colleagues, posh surroundings...decent wine. Bonding of a type that may make it easier for me to let it all go...we shall see...
Thursday...Larking with the Skyhooks...what a great evening, company, environment, food...perfect! He's a liar tho...she's even more gorgeous than he ever let on... And the multiple boobage gropery in the garden was kinda fun too.
Friday...I walked. I walked and talked with that wondrous @Wonderer...for two hours. Me of the non-exercising policy. But I did not expire, I kept up...it was lovely and relaxing and beautifully calm...the way a walk with Wonderer should be. Was it me walking he; or he walking me I wonder?
Saturday...My Man. My lovely, glorious man who I miss so badly. There and solid and real and as beautiful as ever. My anchor point to a world that rarely makes sense. Not long now til we are together again, properly. Can't wait!
Sunday...A surprise 40th for a colleague who had actually told me she was a tad younger than me...well, enough so I thought she was 39 this year. I bet she was a lil more surprised than me! Hehehe. Was good to see her in her other context though...her "real world".

And now...in 4 minutes it will be Monday again. And I will have to get up at 5 to try to compete against time to complete all the work I missed while I was having a life; and only working the standard 37 1/2 -40. But yanno what? I kinda don't care as much, at the moment, about basing my world around work.

I had a lil taste of what people are like...and they're kinda cool, really.

I never thought I'd make it to 30 years old...in exactly 5 months I will be 42. I am sort of starting to feel I may like to celebrate that with learning how to achieve balance.

Party in Sheffield mid-August anyone?

Lovely to see you again. I didn't know of your non-exercising policy. Enjoyed our walk and talk very much. And very glad you got to see him at last - I know you were missing time together.

Work life balance is good. I think you often do more than necssary. All work and no play ... will never make you dull, but may not be as fulfilling as balance.

Keep on living life to the full and having fun!

Nice stuff. I have had a few weeks of filling every minute I could with other people. Going to have a reflective slow week this week to relax and process it all and then..do it all over again
