One or two people have hinted in my direction about a housewarming party. And I almost listened to the hints and arranged one. But you know what I thought long and hard and I don't want a housewarming party.
I can't really afford to throw a party whilst I am searching for gainful employment, and if I could, I wouldn't want to. I am not really comfortable with parties, too many people and my social skills drop from poor to zero, and if people don't turn up I end up feeling unwanted. The last few parties I have had the people I most wanted to be there could not make it and that felt like shit.
Truth to tell I am more comfortable with smaller groups.
So let's make this clear. If your on my friends list I would love to see you. Please feel free to visit any time I'm home. I'll cook for you, I'll listen to your bad puns and unfunny jokes. I'll smile at your frothing. Hey I'll even throw together some sort of sleeping arrangement. And I will enjoy your presence all the more for not having to split my attention in numerous directions the way I would have to when arranging a party.
If you are my friend, my door is always open to you just as long as I am not away gadding about somewhere. Don't wait for an invite as I am unlikely to issue individual invites, you know me I avoid rejection. But when you have some spare time, and can afford the travel, please feel free to visit.
