I don't like shouty/loud types either. Calm quiet control works far better for me. For the loud types, one phrase comes to mind - "All noise and no substance."

When you have got it sussed you usually shouldn't have to speak, unless of course they particularly like to hear your voice. In which case it can be a good idea

No I don't like that either. I prefer or rather preferred a quiet warm way, kind of like someone being normal, friendly and polite. Can you tell I'm bored and have nothing better to do with my life? | ||

I have never had to be loud and barky as I have found my subs have responded to my instructions best when I have been clear, firm and pleasant. So, I start out quiet and calm and hopefully stay that way. Equally, never seen the point in putting on a kind of cold steeliness I just don't feel. I like my subs, that is why they are my subs and so I treat them in a way which seems natural and comfortable for me. I treat them with fondness and civility. I see them as valued human beings, which may or may not make me fluffy in some people's estimation.

I like the queit almost whispering domination that I get, it is very controlling and it can be misread as him being soft, this is sooo wrong. It can also be steely cold at times but I know behind it lies someone who does care for me.....they do not do shouty in your face....
