Heat / sun stroke should probably be checked out by a Dr.

In the meantime, lots and lots of fluids, in particular rehydration sports drinks. The most dangerous symptom of heatstroke is dehydration. If you can't get sports drinks, a glass of water with a pinch of salt and one teaspoon of sugar in it will do.

Avoid high carb food and try and ear water rich food like pineapple, melon, oranges, cucumber.

If you can't have the sports drinks, add some fruit juice into the fluids...and keep an eye on the blood sugars as they can sink rapidly! Have something with salt in it...

Cool yourself off...cool (not cold/icey) bath/shower, wet tshirt, anything that brings your core temp down. You may well get a dehydration headache and feel a bit nauseous. That's normal, and means you need MORE fluids.

If you're worried at all, start having blurry vision or difficulty staying awake/aware, call NHS direct on 0845 46 47 :)

How do you know you have heat stroke?

It is not what you say or do but the way you say or do it
Those 3 words are said too much, but they're not enough

Ah, ok. So how did you sort it out before? It is quite serious thing and if you have had it before you should be more careful not to get it again.

I have had it once, and now look out for myself so not to get it again.
