These 'corrective' rapes are happening within a tribal community of people, where men are dominant by force and always have been. Where there is no education.

Yes its wrong, horrifically wrong, but its not their fault. Our gardener worked away from home and whilst he stayed in our area, his brother was allowed to go and rape his wife whenever he felt like it to check she stayed in good working order. It was his culture. He could not see anything wrong with it.

We are not talking about people who see things the way we do. We are not talking about educated people. We are talking about people who rape, steal and kill to survive on a daily basis in townships where they live in corrogated iron huts.

They do still see lesbianism with the same shock and horror the europeans did 100 or so years ago, unfortunately their approach is possibly more tribal. Remember men who have culturally been taught to prove their dominance by force and violence if need be from childhood and have grown up with that being normal cannot be expected to act any different.

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
