Well, it's a completely different space now, for a start, I have been to every single event, and we have never let any chavs into the event. The venue has never been attacked by chavs. We have a totally private courtyard. That only allows fetish people in. If people did come in an misbehave they would be banned for life. As I said, I never forget a face and have been at every event! So not to worry! And the venue which is owned and now run by the people who started Smithy's (gate, cafe ensemble etc) our first ever venue have just finished redecorating it and it's a deeply sumptuous neo victorian venue now run by the right people, with the right menu, and the right selection of vegetarian and meat sunday lunches, nice snacks, practically award winning chips, and 6 real ales and a wine list. Anyone who misses it is missing out! I should know, I have been amassing Halloween decorations for a month! My favourite being the ridiculous automated ghost and the screaming vampire nurse http://www.londonfetishfair.co.uk/news/halloween... here is a quick list. Meant to add, that we have the busworks next door (a huge bus garage for parking for standholders and lff visitors exclusively) it connects through to the venue and it's free! to park all day and secure, I guess we could get 50 cars in there ish. Disabled access is a lot better, I have a disabled and ambulant access page here which will help you understand how the venue works, http://www.londonfetishfair.co.uk/news/wheelchai... You will find the whole street is full of different building projects now for modern housing and looks very different. The whole area has changed alot.

I'm pleased at the prospect of LFF returning to North London, much more local for me. Unfortunately the immediate area's reputation hasn't always been great as Shillibeers was also reported to be the place Ben Kinsella had been the night he was tragically killed in 2009 after his friends got involved in a fight. Hopefully the local area improvements will have made a difference. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-o... Edited 7 Oct 11, 2:46 AM by Trussedworthy | ||

A few 8 year olds throwing potatoes. That problem was later combatted by putting a curtain across the gate to hide the courtyard from public view better.
Should the immediate area's reputation be marred by one incident? Shillibeer's is directly beneath the Pleasance Theatre, one of Londons largest fringe theatres working in conjunction with the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Currently Alan Davies is performing there. Next month is the Suspense Puppet Festival. It hosts drama classes and children's theatre and at one point I recall it being used for Sunday Mass when the local church was being renovated.
