It seems to me that there is a consensus that we need to work together and indeed are keen to see some sort of event up here in the Manchester area.

Now is the time for us to take this momentum from here into the outside world.

The management team at the Lifestyles Munch and Subversion Party have agreed that a meeting of interested individuals could be held during the April munch being held on Saturday 2nd April 2005 (full details on the events listing pages).

This initial meeting need last no more than an hour or 2 and could really get the ball rolling towards an event later in the year with tasks being identified and allocated.

I am happy to provide accomodation to those travelling to this meeting as I am sure others in Mancland will be.

So 3pm, Saturday April 2nd, Lifestyles Munch, spread the word.

Of course if you are coming to Lifestyles for the first time you may well want to take advantage of membership which would save you £5 off the cost of guest entrance to the excellent Subversion party held on the same night as the munch.

Much as I hate to say it ....

Be very cautious about organising something in Leeds. For some reason my home city is really crap at sustaining any regular pervy club event.

Manchester has far more going for it precisely because it already has an infrastructure of groups and clubs.

The very fact of having more groups can make it *seem* like there's more 'scene politics' to deal with, but it also means there are more people committed, interested, and wanting to contribute.

As I understand and read it, there is an open invitation to anyone who might be interested to meet and discuss, or am I missing something?

This may be taken really badly by some.. but a munch is a munch and its for that purpose... i feel the meeting should take place away from an event thats already set up.

If the meeting takes place at lifestyle then straight away the event will start to get linked to lifestyle.

its ment to be an independent event?? or has jenis got it wrong again

Oh and think it would ruin the munch enviroment and make newbies very uncomfy

just my view xx

That's exactly the offer, no hidden agendas, no secret cliques just a willingness of the Lifestyles Management to assist by providing an opportunity for interested people to get together to thrash out a way forward.

All the Lifestyles Management have done jenis is fill the void. They have offered space during one of their munches (The best munch there is in my opinion) to enable those interested in working together towards a common goal to begin that work.

Lifestyles Management are not organising the meeting they are merely providing space for a meeting to take place. Obviously anybody else, any other group could have done the same but none did.

I wonder why a newbie would be uncomfortable seeing a group of people discussing how they can work together for the betterment of the lifestyle as a whole.

I'm going to do my best to get there to join in the discussion. I'd really like to see the interested parties coordinating on this.
