Perhaps I'm just a big gothic cliche....but I'd have said EBM/Industrial...and loud and nasty but totally instrumental. I always find anything with a singer a little off-putting lol

I've drifted of into subspace quite deeply whilst having the vaguest notion of The Cranes playing in the background - think it was at Antichrist a year ago. The vocals weren't distracting as they were quite subdued. Cocteau Twins is also good for drifting away with the faeries to.

Boards of Canada puts my head in interesting places too.

For a nasty, brutal (but yummy) session I love Rammstein to be on - just hearing Till incanting away in German makes me happy.

I want to hold you close / Skin pressed against me tight
Lie still, and close your eyes, girl / So lovely, it feels so right
I want to hold you close / Soft breasts, beating heart
As I whisper in your ear / I want to f*cking tear you apart

To quote you from the thread you started in April...

When doing a session outdoors, then music is out of the question but for an indoor session, then I have my favourites and before you ask,no not tracks that a typical stereotype goth music tracks.Something dark but not too gloomy. Now what would you choose for seting the mood for session.

So which is it?

You have your favorites, or never use music?

I'm dying to hear you dig yourself in deeper. :)

Interesting selection, @tied_n_tested. I think one or two of the artist come up at an event I goto, on monthly basis.

E_M isn't that confused as their post that said "never used music myself" has now been edited to read "never used music outdoors myself", but the original post was quoted by @Shibari_Cognoscenti prior to that edit, as the time and date stamps show.

Moral : always quote E_M at the time, so that the subsequent *little edits* show up.

BTW, E_M has even edited their quote here of @Shibari_Cognoscenti 's post (original here) to include the subsequent addition of the word "outdoors", which isn't present in @Shibari_Cognoscenti 's post. Is that a breach of the AUP?

oh there are more than a few - but do you not think that you are looking at it from a different perspective - lust for the lie, disco inferno, mirwais, 1812, Bolero - perhaps think about when a scene is good and the sound track that goes with that......footsteps, Missy Eliot, personally Family Affair and Time to Say Goodbye - Andreas Boccali and Sarah Brightman always make me think

It's not an AUP violation as such, but it is a clear demonstration of Empress_Martine's dishonest posting style.

Depends on the scene, but i can safely say from one club I have been too, shed 7 and maroon 5 are not the best to have on.

I like stuff that is there but at the same time you don't notice it, so stuff like:

chilled euphoria by red jerry (originals are quite expensive to come by now though),

Tool - lateralus (album)

Nine inch Nails

Preaching to the perverted sound tarck

For the more heavier play:

Prodigy (I kid you not I have played to this both at a dungeon, and at a live gig hehe)

Rammstein

Pendulum (at a push)

Combichrist

(most cybergoth and industrial)

this is a cool choice, however I'd probably tear through my rope to go raving to pendulum:-).... mind you they seem to play EVERY year at download and soni now..oops veered off the bdsm track there for a mo, which brought me to the random thought of what would I choose if I had to make a decision of picking bdsm or music.....;-/
