Firstly my apologies re the length of time to post here. but I have been hoping for numbers to increase and that any further postponement would not be necessary but with three weeks to the date that now is the case.
DV8 wanted a deposit to even reserve the date, which is standard so please there is no criticism of that. For that reason, common sense has dictated that I needed to ascertain the level of support for any given date. The date of 8th July was one of only a few dates possible with the site. There is a sub hunt on Saturday 9th from 1200. This would not have prevented us as we could have been finished and gone by then. Some even expressed a wish to do both events and thought that it would make our event even more popular, sadly no more people were forthcoming.
We are now at a point with three weeks to that date and we have out of the 142 people who expressed an interest and were 'qualified' to attend a grand total of 12 said yes they would be in attendance.
Your disappointment can only be matched by mine. Perhaps we just were unlucky picking a date that so many had other commitments for? Who knows? Be it unlucky or a display of apathy, it's not a viable event for 12 people.
So where do we go with this now? I think it's the right venue the idea is good, what do I have to do to motivate?
Despite the overwhelming temptation to say sod it and walk away from the whole exercise I have decided to do this.
IF I GET A GREEN LIGHT FROM ENOUGH OF YOU WHO ARE INTERESTED.......
I will get definite dates of availability for the site regardless of time of year. I will put a price structure together for the event from 20 people to 50 people. It simply is a matter of division of costs.
I have a kit list ready to go out and a questionnaire in draft form which can go out soon after.
It's now up to you ... ?

i really do wish the event was soooooo much closer *cries* but i cant get there to enjoy festivities but i do hoep it goes ahead and many people have a wonderful time a rose by any other name will smell but as sweet | |

It is generally accepted that events run in June (to some degree), July and August will have lower number. With the little Monkeys out of school for the hols, the nice weather (people tend to think 'fuck it' and stay home for a BBQ) I think you simply picked a difficult date to launch. I certainly don't think it's a reflection on the event, or organisation. Look at Sept/Oct, aim for 35ish people and I think that would be a goer. Good Luck!!! Maybe posting the details on the events board rather than just to the group would have helped attract more attention. Can you tell I'm bored and have nothing better to do with my life? | |

You know I'm interested. Just let me know when and where. TBH, I think if you had bumped it a bit more on the threads so people would be more aware of it, it would help possibly. Hi I have just joined this board and I am very interested. When Interrogated, I like to be tied up by my wrists, stretched - nearly suspended - and punched in the tummy (by a woman!). I also like nipple tortures - perhaps tied up sittng on a chair? I live the idea of a spy - counterspy scenario (secret service interrogation). I am very interested in taking part to an event. I also know a large house in Radlet (near Watford) which perhaps can be rented for an event, as a safe house. So, here's an additional participant...let's see whether it grows further!
