I have a nasty feeling my hotmail account has been hacked.
It's not recognising my password and won't let me reset it because it's saying the answer to my security question is incorrect (which it isn't).
Anybody got any advice?

This happened to me i was really p***d off about it - I sent an email from another hotmail account to the windows live team they can investigate it for you and they give you a secure link in which to communicate with them. You have to answer lots of intrusive Questions about the content of any emails in which you had in that account & describe graphically the content of photographs etc secret questions your bra cup size ...well maybe not the latter.... they did get my account back but everything that was in it was gone and it did take quite a long time
Good luck with it To the world, You are one person. But to one person, you might be the world. |

Dump it and start again with a new address. You can tell the people you want to contact you what it is and the rest will remain ignorant. Rohypnol means never having to say "Would you like another coffee?". |

I really wish I did have some advice for you, but I would have no idea what to do in your situation. I hope somebody better than me knows! ETA: There is an option of "remove all your information", but you need to access the account first. Maybe try their customer support? "Nothing saves anyone's life, Sir. You need to contact them & say it's been hacked, they usually contact you in 24 hours, they ask you about folders in your account, who were the last few emails from etc, you can get it back -:|:- London Munch -:|:- LondonAlternativeMarket -:|:- |

It happened to me a while ago when both my accounts were hacked. I contacted Microsoft and after giving them some details about the accounts they reinstated them back to me took about four days. xxx

Looks like option b might be what's needed If are locked out of the account: a.Try a password reset http://windowslivehelp.com/solution.aspx?solutio... b.If that does not work, complete the form here for Windows Live ID Validation: |

Stop trying to use it. Tell everyone not to open any email from that email account (so they will not get any viruses). Also not to send any emails to the addy. Continue using other email accounts instead. Notify Hotmail that you think your email account has been hacked and you want it closed, so the hacker cannot use it.
