I do so hope that this group is a success, as I feel that there are enough of us out there with an interest in this kind of forum. I have been trying, unsuccessfully, for some time to obtain regular employment as a plainly dressed male housemaid to a dominant lady. I can undertake any household duties. Based in Torbay area but would consider travelling within the South West. Service orientated. | |

There are many subs/sissy/butlers who would happily devote their life to this kind of service, if only they could find it. I would consider giving up my 'normal' work if I could find a position like this. I do know, from what little I've read of these times, is that the work was very, very hard, and the often sadistic masters and head butlers would meat out plenty of beatings - how realistic is this going to be!? | |

In my opinion it is completely realistic to be served in a traditional manner within the realms of modern life. Serving in this way can be achieved without the need for 24/7 servitude. Those Dominants who are able to facilitate 24/7 positions rarely have many available and so a balance must be struck between how the servant fits into a structure based on their availability and how the Dominant wishes to be served.
It is my understanding that the group is about the type of service, the mindset and methods of past eras. How we incorporate it into our modern lives and an opportunity to focus on the way service was handled for those of us that were clearly born in the wrong century
Personally I adore the Victorian / Edwardian era both in terms of structure for servants and opulence, although I am more drawn to Edwardian for décor, and obviously let us not forget what the term Mistress really means Elizabeth
