Ok here goes, could be difficult to describe but will try. i am looking for a headset which you can put music on too, it is not connected to a ipod, or music system but is self contained so not restrictive. Brilliant for sensory deprivation as the music can be played over and over. Has anyone seen anything like this please. I could spend my life in this sweet surrender - Aerosmith

But just Google for: headphones "built-in mp3" And see what you can find. Can you tell I'm bored and have nothing better to do with my life?

if you are after sensory deprivation isolation, a simple FM radio tuned off-station produces something akin to white noise. Just use a bandage, scarf or hood to keep the earplugs in place and put the radio on the sub, where they can't reach it. be a switch, double your fun

This is of course, only now possible since the advent of solid state technology made such devices easily portable. In the earlier days of thermionic valves sadly the submissive had to haul along a cart full of batteries as well as the bakelite encased wireless device with a figure 8 cable leading to a pair of weighty electromagnetic headphones.

and just think about all the battery acid splashing around from the accumulators needed for the valve filaments. Are you sure about bakelite ? I thought they wireless receivers were made of ebony for the main components to fix onto, and a nice cherry-wood cabinet to finish it off. Of course, being only "long wave", there would also be several hundred feet (no metrication then!) of wire for the aerial (not antenna, that's a modern name, probably American!)

The other benefit of wireless headphones is that you can then introduce your voice at key moments, change the pace/mix of sound (if fed off something like a laptop, and do a gentle rise out os sense dep if you want to keep them spacy

I have a pair of wraparound sunglasses that I've blacked out which have an integrated mp3 player that you hear through built in ear plugs. Double the sensory deprivation in one item. Got it from eBay, can't remember the exact price but it was not much (probably under £10). The nice lady with the whip. |
