The Radio 4 GMT time pips have failed.... the axis about which civilized life revolves is gone.

Will the world fall into a fermenting pit of chaos where only the fit and ruthless will survive ...or will they get to repair the capacitor in time????

Truly, these are the end times. Also, what does fermented chaos taste like?

Spanish cucumbers

As I understand it, civilisation as a whole should be ok provided the caesium fountain clock doesn't stop.

There could be major problems around Greenwich though. If the pips aren't released soon pressure will build up to dangerous levels, ultimately causing the observatory to blow it's top, potentially scattering pips all over London. Not only would this have a detrimental affect on those living within the fallout zone, but flights across Britain could be cancelled and planes diverted.

Here's hoping they fix it soon.
