Hi everyone, I just wondered if any of you have had experiences of using this program.
I have been asked by a few subs if I would like their IDs and passwords for it and I have been tempted I must admit. I know how much I depend on my own PC and the very thought of someone else having the power to lock me out of it etc is the stuff of nightmares! That being said that, I quite fancy the idea of having that power over someone else Here come the but ... BUT I have my concerns about using the program. Is it safe to use in terms of viruses, worms and other nasties that could damage my computer? Is it safe in terms of legal issues? (by that I mean if someone tells me it's their PC I am accessing but it is in fact their work PC will I be in sh*t for breeching that company's security?) Am I being overly paranoid or sensibly concerned? Anyone have any advice for me on this? Soltanto il tatto guasto nessun dolore |

TeamViewer is a great application designed to assist remote technical support and/or remote presentation. I'm rather amused to hear of it potentially being used as a D/s tool though. Virus-wise you would be pretty safe as essentially you are just viewing someone's screen remotely, but if you start to use the file transfer functionality then that could potentially expose you to receiving infected files or malware. Legally you should be ok, as it is the recipient that agrees to allow you to access their computer in a TeamViewer session. If you are actually accessing someone's work PC I would say that it is they that are putting themselves at risk by abusing their employers security policies. Be aware that you could potentially be 'set-up' by someone giving you their TeamViewer ID for you to do stuff on their computer and the recipient could invite a bunch of mates round and/or record the session and use it against you. I've used teamviewer quite successfully to do remote support. It only allows you to remote control the machine you're connecting to, and will only work if the other person has the teamviewer program running, and supply you with the ID and passcode. I've found it reasonably secure, and as with any networking type of program, there is a risk of transferring viruses, as you can upload/download files. Still, if your own AV package is up to date, it should protect you, and there is no mechanism to catch a virus by just connecting. I've used it successfully to clear up infected machines remotely, so that should give you an idea of how confident I am with it. Be aware, many AV packages will flag teamviewer as a virus, due to its remote control abilities, but thats just the antivirus folk being uber-paranoid, declaring ALL remote control as bad.
I hope this helps! Edited to sort crap punctuation. Edited 31 May 11, 9:41 AM by SlutLesley |

Hi everyone, first post time! I've had Teamviewer installed on my Mac for a few months now and have dabbled with the idea of being dominated via it, however haven't found a Mistress serious enough to experiment with it and use it to it's full capability. As I'm on a mac not a PC I've always wondered if there are any applications or programs written to be used on a mac by a domme like there are for PC. If you've got any ideas or tools, get in touch, It'd be great to find a mistress on here to use and have me serve them online or real time and include this. I've got my id and pass ready and waiting.

There shouldn't be any more risks from viruses etc even if you transfer them over than there is from getting any random file from the internet. If you're worried, insist that they've got decent up to date anti-virus software, and do the same, but I wouldn't be too concerned. |
