Oh hive mind of IC, I come to you for help.
There's a novel I read when I was younger, a kinky erotic piece that really deeply affected me, I think. But I've forgotten what it's called, and since I've left most of my books in boxes at my parent's house I can't go checking.
So, what I remember of it is as follows.
The female character is some sort of professional, lawyer perhaps. She is very taken by a dominant man, who offers her no comfort but instructions and orders that she doesn't think not to follow. She's married.
I remember her being sent to a hotel room, putting on the outfit that he'd left for her and waiting hours for him, wondering if he was watching, trying to maintain the position - but he never came. He said he'd checked how long she'd waited and had been impressed how long she'd been there, obedient. I remember him pushing a plug into her and forcing her to sit back down onto it. I remember her (or them?) going to a dinner party with some liberal friends and something horrible/violent happening in a broom cupboard. I remember an event and her being all dressed up but with clamps and chains under her dress, her best friend being asked to touch and feel the changes in her body and being angry about it.
I remember them going to some sort of SM dungeon. Her being very afraid. I remember some sort of boat trip, someone else (another submissive and man?) being there and her being ridiculously jealous of the fact that he wouldn't have sex with her (penetratively) and yet was doing so with someone else (I think.)
The last bit I remember is her being left naked and beaten, cuffed to a railing on the balcony of a very expensive restaurant, having had to take her butt plug out and walk across the room carrying it openly, and a waiter finding her several hours later, stunned by her condition. And her going back to her husband and trying to return to her normal life.
If this rings any bells to anyone, that would be much appreciated. I read this when I was about 15 but have only remembered it this week, and so I'd like to know what it is so I can reread it (and hold it responsible for making me kinky :P !)
