So. Are you someone who has had bad experiences with the press? Have you been exposed or otherwise hung out to dry by them?

If so, the Beeb might like to talk to you for a current affairs discussion on the question: 'Is the press responsible for the decline of society?'

I have sort of opined to those involved that, by definition, anyone already shafted by the press is very very unlikely to wish to repeat any sort of press experience. Equally, though, i did say i'd give it a go.

if you are at all interested, do, please raise a hand either here or in private.

'Is the press responsible for the decline of society?'

yes, but there's a very long queue, and try not to shove in or make loud pronouncements protesting your indignation

Ask Ryan Giggs, ask Imogen Thomas, ask Brooke Magnanti, ask Max Mosley, ask a close friend of mine who was outed for no reason other than it was a quiet news day.

Ask anyone who has had their private life splashed across the media to make lots of money for media moguls with no concern for the victims of this abuse.

Ask the "journalists" who write this crap and bleat about freedom of the press but never about the responsibility of the press.

Ask yourself.

Ask my chunk of Wenslydale. It had it's life ruined by a salacious sex-scandal article.

For gods sake isn't even cheese allowed privacy without a superinjunction?

Jane - Why can't they just read back issues of the Daily Fail, surely a weeks worth would yield a truck load of victims?
