I have had a wonderful weekend, aside from setting a plant pot alight as I left (who would have thought that mud was flammable?).
It feels a little strange to sit outside my girl's house whilst she brings my car around – I suppose that's what comes from not being posh enough to be familiar with my Benz being driven by a chauffeuse. But I think I can adapt to the situation quite easily.
She drove me past a building that I used to work in, now the headquarters of Northern & Shell, one-time publishers of such glorious titles as “Asian Babes” and “Readers' Wives”, and publisher of the Daily Depressed. Ah the memories of working in the once-grand headquarters of Samuel Montagu & Co Limited, now sadly occupied by 'dirty' Desmond.
Tempora mutantur nos et mutamur in illis.
Ringrazio la mia bella ragazza.
