My experience of Egypt is that if you want something you can bribe the police. If your bag got searched and they made a point of trying to embarass you about your toys offer them a few Egyptian Pounds, that's a lot of money to people in Egypt, if you offer them loads they will know you don't understand the local culture. It's a really chilled country so don't stress to much, if you were going to UAE I would have concerns. They do have "Tourist Police" with guns in the cities but don't be concerned, they are just for show and are there to make tourists feel safe rather than scared. I haven't been to Sinai Peninsula but I know plenty of people who have and they say it's not like going to Egyptian cities as there are less people hassling you to buy stuff. If your lady walks around wearing flimsy clothes she will get looked at and you will be harassed for the first couple of days until you get the keep away from me I don't want to buy your tour/vase/drugs/anything language. Have fun

We fly to Dalaman in Turkey and always take toys. Mostly to move a decent supply there to keep permanently at the house, but some go back and forth. We were a bit hesitant about the strapon, but it went anyway. LOL I took the violet wand, but not the glass attachments (taking the secondary attachment & metal toys instead). We lock it in your bags - that way they can't just confiscate it at the airport because they fancy the look of it or are doubtful of its purpose, which they can if its in hand luggage. Why would you even ever get stopped by customs? I've only ever been stopped once in India and she kept me there until I gave her the bottle of nail varnish she kept admiring. *rolls eyes* I certainly never walk through the "things to declare" aisle!!! If you know for a fact that people are always stopped and checked by customs, then there are a lot of pervertables and you will find more there (like they probably have the wooden paddles to take flat bread out of the ovens, and if you find a curtain shop, the pullback rope (that they make the tassels out of) is awesomely soft. The markets are full of little pokey pully hardware things. But there are also a lot of innocent looking things you can take with you too - a tens unit (for your back pain), etc.
To be honest, if it's package tour you will probably only get that 20KG allowance anyway. That cuts out taking a lot - floggers weigh more than you think. @Play_Space - Next party is Sunday May 22 - 5 to Midnight http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/posts/301135

Ah the sweet humiliation of having you suitcase searched. I have had my dirty knickers and BDSM toys examined several times and part of me always wants to die, the other to laugh hysterically. I do particuarly pity the poor Italian man who dropped my egg vibrator in horror once it dawned on him what it was. The American Border Chappie however gave me a wink upon pulling out my flogger and told me to have "a mighty fine trip to the United States Ma'am!" Guess he thought I'd be the hitter rather than the hittee *grins*.

Sinai then, is it? If you're flying into Sharm,it's a really busy airport. I doubt they'll give you or your luggage a second glance out of all the plane loads of chavs that land there. I've seen horse-hair floggers for sale in Dahab - they're probably fly swats but they looked interesting. And I bet you'd be able to buy a camel whip there. The rest would be vanilla pervertables - sarongs/scarves and washing line for bondage; clothes pegs, big flat hairbrush, flippy-whippy combs, rubber bands, duct tape and whatever else you can put your feverish imagination to.

Christ, never, ever offer to bribe police... however, and at your own risk, you may want to enquire about the possibility of paying the officer a cash only on the spot fine of *suggest your own amount here*.

Gotta say, I'm quite looking forward to seeing what happens when we get to Paris at the end of August now. Although, I'm sure the French'll just be rather blasé about the whole thing... "This flogger, mademoiselle, where did you get it? Trés belle..." Good things come in small packages... And poison comes in little bottles.

I'da bit hesitant about going anywhere in the Middle East at present,Egypt is on the verge of civil war,as are most places....I have travelled and worked in war zones, and as an ex soldier now I'd say go somewhere a little more stable....ignore the government advice, they say whatever is politicaly correct. An example...my father in law lives in Senegal in an area that the British Govenment says is extremely dangerous and its lovely !! A country where millions marched to oust the rulers and the army are in control is no place for tourists Islamic or not.
