There is, I'm sure, no small irony given my recent blogging material that I write this in quite a lot of discomfort. Not good, bitten-so-hard-he's-broken-the-skin discomfort either. (That's gone now, and was in no way related to my prior blog, in case you're wondering.)
Since the end of last week I've had some kind of weird muscle-spasm thing going on in my left shoulder. It's rather painful, and very close to my neck; I think that's why it also seems to be accompanied by nausea from time to time, and a weird tingling in my jaw. It's also too close to my head to be able to use my magic wand for its intended purpose (I tried, felt like someone was using a pneumatic drill on my ear, and stopped).
Ibuprofen occasionally does the trick. A hot water bottle fails. As does Ralgex, which also brings with it an exposure of my stupidity (hint: wash your hands before you rub your face, doofus). But mostly, it just bloody hurts. And it's making me a bit miserable.
Which is a shame, because I've had a splendid break off work. Done everything but one on my list - the Wellcome Collection had two attempts, both thwarted by public transport issues, but will definitely get done some weekend soon. Otherwise, there were two seaside trips, a day at the spa, the Museum of London is much improved over the last time I was there, and London Zoo was quite the highlight.
Today I've ended the break with a trip to see the Titanic exhibition at the O2. The O2 is a happy place for me, having had many a good time there (and another one due in less than 4 weeks, courtesy of Messrs Taylor, Taylor, Rhodes and Le Bon). The Titanic thingie was pricey, but very good - and they have a neat trick that everyone going in gets a boarding pass and thus a "character" (real-life passenger) to "be". I was some lady in second class emigrating with husband and child in the hope the fresher air would cure my TB, bless. (She and the kidlet survived, hubby sadly perished.)
Lots to see, lots to learn (best cabin = £65,000. Blimey!), got to touch a bit of the hull, what more can you ask for? I am, I know, a museum geek. I love it!
So now, last night of the hols, trying to get my head into gear for tomorrow, and banished to my room for now as flatmate has a guest. So I'm mostly roaming around like a polar bear in a concrete zoo, waiting for the pain to subside. If it was on someone else, I could quite happily tackle it and get rid of it with my ninja massage skillz, but it's in a spot I just can't self-treat. Very bloody annoying... though not permanent, I know, and in that I am very lucky. I'm normally an entirely healthy bean... Right now, though, a hug, a back rub, and a bit of TLC would be good. If only, eh?

I survived the sinking too. Hoorah for us! Glad you've enjoyed your precious time off, despite the unfortunate pain in the neck. x Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read. ~ Groucho Marx

Yay, go the women in the lifeboats!
Oh, so many jokes, so little time.

No, but I did touch the bit of hull - though I had to wiggle my fingers to reach it (not made for little people!). I was (obvious statement coming up) there on my own so sometimes feel a bit self-conscious doing the fun things at, well, fun things.

I am sorry littlenic to hear you have a pain in the neck. I am suffering this too, it is dealing with certain persons here, or trying to, that has caused it.
Quite unnecessary and could be easily relieved. Though that too would involve pain elsewhere.
