Blogger Heresiarch has been shortlisted for the 2011 Orwell Prize (as Heresy Corner, the Dungeon being reserved for more edgy topics) which is a noteworthy achievement. The Orwell Prize is significant because it gets mainstream attention, and The Heresiarch significant as one of the few knowledgeable and objective commentators of The Scene. As in the first link above. Congratulations. Edited Sun 8 May 11, 9:15 PM by go4it |

And this week Heresy Corner has nailed the Daily Fail for ripping off a Telegraph item about some crap research claiming a link between "the rise in explicit images available online and an increase in extreme illegal behaviour in real life". From research - not linked, obviously, that would enable readers to check how badly done this was - from Worcester University (there's a uni in Worcester ?). Basic Fail, per Ben Goldacre. Hopefully statistician Dr Brooke Magnanti will provide a more clear eyed analysis shortly. |
