Leave it to dry out for about a week. Try to expose as much of the insides as possible to help speed up the drying out process. There is a fine line between sanity and insanity. I have a foot firmly planted either side of that line |

My nieces Ds went into water and she was told to take back and batterie out and lay it in a tub with some dry rice for a few days and the rice would absorb the moister. It worked. Another way os laying it in teh airing cupboard of you have one for some time to dry out. ~~~The power of submission lies not in the ability to kneel before another, to give over one's body or in the wearing of a collar......... I agree, it might just need to dry out for a while. Maybe stand it up so any liquid can easily run out. It's the little things Dude, the little things. |

Been there done that! if its had a good dunking there is little hope, i got mine working after trying to dry it out, but no matter how long i left it, there always seemed to be a miniscule of damp left that would steam my screen up, after a week it just died.. Good tip about rice though! Any dry food products.will draw out fluid... I am not perfect, i'm not looking for the perfect man, I just want the 'one' for whom i am perfect for.... If you have a hair dryer use that without to much heat the air flow should help. |

Before trying to use it again, once you think it is dried out, I would suggest sealing it in a zip lock food bag for a while and allowing it to cool down. If you get condensation on the bag, it's not dried out completely. The longer you leave it the more likely it is to dry thoroughly, the more likely it is to revive. |

Combine both rice and ziplock bag ( once youve dried it as much as possible first ) - stupid as it sounds boil in the bag type rice makes fabulous dehumidifying bags if you cant get big silica gel sachets .... Dont ask GF2 Life is a freak show - I just do the electrics ...... |

Thanks, yes, the longer I leave it the better the chances I know although it is suprising how long the damn things seem to need to dry out. I can use my handset from work with my sim in it until Tuesday so I wont rush at it.

Hi there Most of the above seems to be good advice. When you first wash it out its best to flood the device with distilled water if you can so that there is no mineral traces left on the circuit boards etc. from normal tap water. The advice to put the phone in a sealed bag with silica gel bags is good. Before you do this its a good idea to put the silica gel bags in an oven to completely dry out the silica gel before its put into the bag with the phone or other device. Allow at least a week for the device to completely dry out and then put it back together with the battery etc. and with a bit of luck quite often it will work again. Good luck with your phone I hope it drys out and works again. Best regards Stu |
