Inspired by the guilty TV pleasures thread, and a certain film that's showing on Channel Five this Sunday...
What are your dirty secrets when it comes to movies? I'll start. The flick that made me think of this is...
Death Race. With Jason Statham.
I can't resist a blatant blow-shit-up fest with little attempt at anything but increasingly large explosions, especially when our shiny-bonced export is involved.

I had nothing to add to the TV Guilty Pleasures thread. This one, I fear I may monopolise. Put it this way. I have proudly declared openly, on many occasions, that my favourite film is George of the Jungle. The top three is completed by Strictly Ballroom (when I grow up I want to be Tina Sparkles) and The Sound of Music. I have no taste.

I really like much of M Night Shyamalan's output, and genuinely think it's quite deep.

I have had the theme tune to My Blue Heaven starring Steve Martin and Rick Moranis in my head all weekend. I have been struggling to resist the urge to source a copy. Weekend at Bernie's leaps out as a terrible film I should should not admit to enjoying.

'Spacehunter, Adventures in the Forbidden Zone' is amazing, space-trains, Molly Ringwald as a spunky space-waif who gets a forced space-bath in a rock pool, space-mutants, space-bikes, space-slave women and the incomparable Michael Ironside as Overdog McNabb a space-loony with huge space-robot claws for hands. It's based on an original story by Dostoyevsky I believe. Augusti Ro Laren Futatrix. Edited 14 Mar 11, 9:53 PM by Conan_The_Librarian

That's just mean, Dude. I clicked on that fucker and now I'm stuck with it. Armageddon is the most exciting film I've ever seen. FACT We don't live in the World as it is, we live in the World as we are. Edited 15 Mar 11, 1:58 AM by Puddin_Von_Puss

Yes but you have only seen three films, 'Armageddon', 'Holiday on the Buses' and 'Confessions of a Pop Star'. Augusti Ro Laren Futatrix.

# George, George, George of the Jungle... # Other film skeletons in my drawers include: Empire Records, the Matrix sequels, Road House, The Long Kiss Goodnight and a spectacularly awful horror called Unrest. Room service? Send up a larger room. |
