I love what I do....I see people at their lowest, but I also get to see the very best too. I hate the hours I do (especially as am facing working again all weekend!), I hate the pay, I hate the red tape.... But after the heart ache and the sadness, watching the progress is amazing! What do you want me to be?

Currently out of work, but have some things lined up in the same line of work and yes I love what I do. I also love my sideline of PD work. “During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act” - George Orwell

Because I have to. The reason I play the lottery is to keep the dream alive of winning enough money to not have to work, but have a reasonable life style. I have been out of work and hated it. What I hated was not having any money, not that I wasn't working. It is much better to have a job that you don't mind that one you really hate. I did have a job that I really dreaded going to and it can destroy your life. I have a job I don't mind too much now. Like many though, it is not too safe at the moment. I could never envisage actually enjoying work. Often, when I chat with friends about winning lots of money, people will say to me about how they wish they had a big, flash car, big house, loads of foreign holidays etc. I always say, that although they may be nice, buying my freedom from the "Slavery" of having to work would mean much more to me than anything else. My thoughts on the subject from nearly 5 years ago: http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/posts/89188/ Gary. Everyone who lives dies, but not everyone who dies has truly lived. 25% of the time I enjoy it. 50% of the time I can live with it. 15% of the time, I hate it. 10% of the time I want to beat some of my colleagues to death with my stapler. But hey, it pays the bills and keeps me off the streets.

I had to think about it, but I've come to the conclusion that I do love my job. It's fairly unique, I think... I work with a bunch of guys that border on being psychopathic, I believe. Yet they're highly intelligent too. No two days are the same and I never know for sure what'll happen next. Real danger is ever-present, but I've great faith in those around me, and I'd like to think likewise! And so... A job working with highly intelligent (bordering psychotic) people, danger and the constant threat of the totally unexpected. Yep, that'll do it.

I used to REALLY love my job. But over the past six months, for varying reasons, I have to come to love it a little bit less. And oddly not loving it so much makes me a little sad.
I think I need to get out more.

I love my job. It is also an interest, so it does not really seem like work, which is just as well as I often work ridiculously long hours. I just cannot stand many people who work in my industry...
