In the Grey room of The Ledger Building, West India Quay, London E14 4AL, from 7:30pm until closing, Monday 14th March 2011 (and every 2nd Monday of the month thereafter) Same room as always, last one on the left before the stairs. Just look for Charlie Bear and / or a large group of tables shoved together, in various random shapes. How to get to the venue by public transport or car with a map, and all sorts of other goodies are on the main website: http://www.docklandsmunch.co.uk Docklands munch is a friendly, chatty sort of munch in a calm atmosphere, just right for newbies and the nervous. We aim to create a friendly non-threatening environment, to just be able to get together and "chew the fat" with other (local?) like minded people. The pub is a "Lloyd's Bar", so tea, coffee and food are available. The Grey Room has plenty of space, and we seem to accrete tables with style and flare. The whole venue is now non-smoking, smokers are directed to the seating area outside the front of the building. If you do venture out for a smoke, please do remember to not scare the 'nilla patrons. More details about the pub here: http://www.fancyapint.com/pubs/pub1516.html Dress code? Strictly Vanilla please. The staff sort of know that we are an "internet based social group" doing a R/L event but no more than that, so please use your head. The "meet and greet" Munch mobiles will be turned on: Professor_Tim/Mistress Nikki: 07709 854 038 Lionheart: 07941 515 581 So if you want a Natter pre-munch 'cos you are a bit shy, just give one of the munch mobiles a call! Also, if on the night you get lost trying to find the venue, give us a shout and we can send out the search parties! Once in the venue, grab a drink then just look out for Charlie Bear... as they do move us around sometimes, if the pub gets a prior booking on the room. Or, if you don't want to hear our dulcet tones... You can also mail us: MistressNikki@docklandsmunch.co.uk Lionheart@docklandsmunch.co.uk (NB: In the unlikely event that you receive any unwanted hassle whatsoever, please inform us there and then and we will deal with the situation immediately. Don't wait until after the fact, and then moan later!)

Very tempted to find out how nervous newbie friendly you lot are. Being there could play into my plans very well (she says, trying not to cackle). Anyway, I'll pencil it in. Will be fun!

^^^ I attended the Docklands Munch last month and it was my first ever munch, so I can tell you from personal experience that they are newbie friendly and just friendly full stop! I suggest you call ahead for a meet & greet, it just makes it that much less stressful.
Unfortunately I can't attend this time, as I have an appointment for some tests at hospital (who knew medical tests started at 7:30pm??), but am looking forward to next month's There's a somebody i'm longing to see, i hope that he turns out to be, someone to watch over me

You'll be fine. That is after all, the universal reaction from people that attend their first munch. People build coming to a munch up to something huge in their head, when all it is (generally, large munches are the exception) is people sitting around, chatting , being friendly and talking about the widest of topic (I've had conversations ranging from naming kittens, through moving house and mortgage advisers to how to do dry-walling at my munch!) and usually not really about BDSM at all! After all, IMHO getting to know people should always come before getting to know about their kinks.

This one's way off my manor, but I've heard good things about it, so I'm going to try and make it. Fingers crossed!

I'll see your 10p and raise you half a bag of pear drops! Oh, and I'll be there tonight as well.
Docklands is an ideal munch for newbies, because of a combination of the layout, the venue, the people and the numbers that go. It's not too big, not too busy, the venue is quiet so you can talk easily. Most people just turn up rather than post on the thread (lazy sods!! - me included), so there will be more than a dozen people at the munch too. . Edited 14 Mar 11, 4:57 AM by Beau_Tox |
