I don't mind it - I see it much like "don't be such a big girl's blouse" that I have heard used... I'm not offended for my blouse... “During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act” - George Orwell

Would the old skool "you're a wet lettuce" be a way of expressing the same feelings with out oppressing anyone? commitment is like ham and eggs. the chicken makes a contribution, the pig makes a commitment.

Meh who cares about lettuces? They have no value unless you want to be cheap and stock out burgers and salads. I am training a snale army to hunt down lettuce and once opperation green death begins then the lettuces have only 55 years til total destruction! commitment is like ham and eggs. the chicken makes a contribution, the pig makes a commitment.

I've been saying "Man up" or "Man the fuck up" to guys and gals I hang out with for years! I kind of like it in a way, as it makes me think of the strong masculine image I have of some men (which I find hot!)

I am sure you are quite right, but what should the other half of us do? Rip our bras off and light up a wet lettuce roly? Edited 28 Feb 11, 9:07 PM by freequench

I would think the value of this as a phrase depends on when and where its used, and whether as a verb or noun....... Example of rather doubtful use as a verb: 'Come on, stop wimping out; man up!'; used to a sub being slipped a length or so up the ass........... Example of possibly better use as a noun: The 'man up' is the one actually engaged in slipping said length..... And how about making it applicable to either gender....the 'woman up' is the one busy applying the strap on.......... There is no way to peace and happiness; Peace and happiness is the way.

"Man up" kinda sounds like you're just getting yourself a man, so I wouldn't use it. But to the question of facing up to life's problomos and kicking them firmly in the testiculars, most certainly!

"Man up", has ben used as an old military term to gee along those who've been reluctant to commit to a task, such as go over an obstacle on an assault course. For example: 'Man the fuck up and get over that wall'! All hail Zoidberg, saviour of the Universe! |
