What a lovely Spring day it turned out to be yesterday, quite different to this morning which looks dull and likely to rain. Master picked me up at lunchtime and we decided to make the most of such a nice day so we drove into the country to a village and found a little old pub where Master had a burger and I had pie and peas. After a leisurely lunch we wandered around a graveyard and went into the very old Church. Then we drove around country roads, not really aiming for anywhere in particular but just enjoying the warmth of the sun through the window and also enjoying each others company.
Eventually in the middle of the afternoon we made our way to my favourite pub, The Inn at Whitewell which is really in the middle of nowhere and yet is very popular especially with walkers. One of the things I like about it is that they allow dogs inside...we hadnt taken my dog with us yesterday but Ive been there before with him and he loves it cos folk always make a real fuss of him. They do the most gorgeous sticky toffee pudding but I resisted and just had a coffee cos I knew what a large evening meal we were gonna be tucking into later.
We arrived back at mine late afternoon and Master sorted some problems out with my laptop while I made us more coffee and checked on the meal. After a couple of hours of chatting we sat down to eat and the meal was just about perfect. The salad was light and yet tasty and the chicken which had been cooking slowly all day in white wine and chicken stock was so tender with not a hint of dryness. Master drooled over the dessert...the cake was rich and very chocolatey and the rum gave it a real kick. After our meal we were both absolutely full and all we could do was cuddle on the sofa and watch TV together which was so lovely.
Master finally left me at about 11.30pm and I made my way to bed, it had been a wonderful day and Id enjoyed every minute 
This morning Im supposed to be going to a car boot sale with my son but Ive a feeling we may not get there cos he didnt get home from work till 2am and is still fast asleep n I dont wanna wake him cos he starts again at 3pm so Im just gonna have another coffee and wait to see if he surfaces in time. Apart from that Im just gonna do some washing and ironing and have a tidy up and then Im at the hairdressers late afternoon for a cut and blow. Id honestly fully intended going to the gym enroute to the hair dressers but my period and bad cough has put paid to that idea so Im just gonna have to come straight home and flop in front of the TV and watch Bedlam that I taped last night.
Im pretty sure that Master and I are going to visit our first National Trust property of the year tomorrow...they start to open up around about now and we are both so looking forward to it...once the houses open up its as though we know that Spring is almost upon us and very soon the nettles will be growing....ooohhhh I love and hate nettle play with a vengeance.
We are going to watch Carmen next Tuesday evening in Manchester...we bought the tickets ages ago and its finally arrived...yea, already seen the Opera a couple of times and Ive got it on DVD but it still sends a shiver up my spine every time I watch it...cant wait
Right, there's no sign of son so Im gonna have that coffee and maybe even a biscuit or two. bye for now.x
