I've been suffering from perioral dermatitis for years... I control it using loooooooong courses of antibiotics...now my Doc has decided I can't keep doing that as my brain might essplode (Intercranial Hypertension)...so he wants me to .... STOP WEARING MAKE UP for 3 months... along with all skin care products... now this? Simply not gonna happen...soooooo

Can anyone help me with recommendations for hyper ecofriendly, non chemical based make up? Oh and non florinated toothpaste (this is a big trigger)... I need a new skin care regime and a make up base...

thanks in advance...

Lush is always my go to recommendation. They do a product whose name I can't remember at the moment (and their website is down following a hack this week) but that is a concentrated colour that you can use directly on its own, as a concealer, or if you mix it with a dab of moisturiser it makes a great foundation. Plus you can mix it for coverage as light or not as you need. Obviously Lush sell moisturisers too, that you can mix it with, but you can add it to any moisturiser that works for you.

I couldn't go without make up for 3 months, but I do have to periodically not put anything on my face whilst it sorts itself out. Not fun; I feel for you. I hope you find something that works for you.

Well, mineral make-up (foundation) is so good for the skin that apparently cosmetic surgeons recommend it after face-lifts. Most cosmetic houses do them.

Lily Lolo's mineral comes highly recommended; I think it might be organic as well??

Clinique is hypo-allergenic: I am super sensitive and Clinique works for my skin.

Do you use acqueous cream as cleanser?

Will have a think ...

You can get tooth powder that is Fl free, try Boots or your local independent chemist, but I have seen it in Sainsburys occasionally. Clinique also offer samples so you dont have to shell out if it doesnt suit you. Hope that helps

I have a friend who has very 'bad skin' (I am not sure what her condition is called) and she swears by Clinique

Clinque is no good for me. I'm very pale and their make up is too dark, it's also too 'chemical'. This particular dermatitis is a bugger, they aren't sure what causes it, so all I can do is strip down what I use to the basics.

I have just ordered some Lily Lolo samples to try... still need a skin care regime.

You can get fluoride-free toothpaste from health food shops - Kingfisher is a brand I have used.

Good luck!

Oh well, it seemed like a good idea at the time!

Fluoride free toothpaste available from health food shops and online as previously suggested.

Try Lush (good stuff) and Jurlique (I love them) http://www.jurlique.com/ Jurlique list all their ingredients online with every item so you can be sure it doesn't contain the allergens that make your skin flare up.

The ozzies are really big on natural, organic, no-shit-added stuff so you should be able to find something there.
