The Chester Munch has a new permanent home, which is the Town Crier pub, City Road, Chester CH1 3AE, which is right outside Chester train station. As before the munch will be on the THIRD Thursday of every month. The munch proper will begin at 8pm through to 11pm, though meet and greet is available from 7.30pm when someone of us will be in the downstairs family area having food! The Town Crier has its own large car park situated on City Road itself, to the side of the pub, and we have negotiated use of the upstairs room. From the front entrance, come past the family area and you'll see a doorway to your left...from the car park entrance, walk towards the bar and you'll see the door to your right near the fruit machine.
Thursday night is currently curry night (though the full menu is still available), and the staff are pleased to bring food upstairs for us. The food is good quality and inexpensive, as is the beer...AND we have the benefit of good light and heating here Please note this is a family pub, and we use the downstairs bar, so discretion please.
Also for those going onwards to THI can we please ask that you adhere to the vanilla dress policy, and also keep your kit bags firmly closed Any further information required, please contact @just_six, @jules9 or @Chester_munch profiles. For all those of you still recovering from a weekend of debauchery and general merriment, can i just bump this to remind you of the munch this Thursday.
i know a fair few of you go on to THI so can we just remind you that the venue is STRICTLY vanilla dress, and can we please also ask that you keep your kit bags firmly closed whilst at the munch, as we'd hate to have to tell you to "put it away" Whilst it's a private room, quite a number of people do have food upstairs and the staff are coming in and out of the room...it is a very good venue for us, and we don't want to lose it by staff spotting kit being shown around.
